China News Service, Guangzhou, September 2 (Cai Minjie, Tang Xuyan) The Guangzhou Port Authority announced on the 2nd that the Port of Guangzhou and the Port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands have renewed their agreement as a friendly port.

Yuan Yue, deputy director of the Guangzhou Port Authority, and Gao Hans, the relevant person in charge of the Rotterdam Port Authority of the Netherlands, reached a consensus on the renewal of the friendly port agreement. According to reports, the friendship between Guangzhou Port and Rotterdam Port, two world-class ports in the East and the West, officially began in 2019. During the World Port Conference in Guangzhou, the two ports signed a friendly port agreement for a period of 2 years. Since the signing of the friendly port agreement, the Port of Guangzhou and the Port of Rotterdam have carried out pragmatic cooperation on enhancing personnel exchanges and training and strengthening the opening of air routes. In 2020, 3 container liner routes will be opened between the two ports, an increase of 1 compared to 2019.
